I’ve been making art— or attempting to— since as early as I can remember. The practice of art has been my constant companion and guiding force through life. In some ways, it has been my home. I am deeply grateful for the time I have to create, and to every single person who has supported me in that journey.

I work in the classical and modern painting traditions, drawn to the push and pull between discipline and wonder. A life in motion shapes my paintings: born in San Francisco, raised in Mexico City, educated across various continents, and in various languages. Every place has left its mark on my heart, and I draw from these various places in my paintings.

My recurring themes reflect on movement, migration, agency and subjection. These are not only ideas, bur rather represent the conditions under which I paint. The easel is where I make sense of what it means to carry the past forward while the land beneath our feet sinks, while the horizon keeps shifting. I hope something in these canvases transports you somewhere true, whether that truth be beautiful, playful, or painful.
