Contemporary Painter | Seattle, Washington
Art begins where certainty ends, in the luminous haze between memory and place, where a landscape can hold the weight of a whole life.
I work in the classical and modern painting traditions, drawn to the push and pull between discipline and wonder. My paintings are shaped by a life in motion: born in San Francisco, raised in Mexico City, educated across various continents, and now rooted in a studio in Seattle. Every new place has left its mark on my hand.
My recurring themes — movement, migration, agency — are not merely subjects. They are the conditions under which I paint. The easel is where I make sense of what it means to carry the past forward while the horizon keeps shifting. I hope something in these canvases transports you somewhere beautiful.
Come behind the Canvas
Making art is a conversation between the painter and the paint, between intention and accident, between what you see and what you feel. On Patreon, I share that conversation: tutorials, process videos, studies, and the quiet, unglamorous hours that turn an idea into a painting. If you've ever wondered what it looks like inside the studio, this is your door.
